It's totally baffling to me why the presence of the second monitor on the extended desktop stabilizes things and I have no idea whether the new video card or the new display is to blame (or both, I guess). It happens most when there's quick action happening on screen, like mousing quickly back and forth over Google search results which makes the underline jump off and on. Either way, once the 20" isn't part of the desktop, I get an intermittent and very annoying display flicker. Finally, I just disabled the second screen (I've tried a couple things: disable it in the AMD control panel, or unplug it from the video card). Still connected to the video card, still part of the extended desktop (so the mouse could move over to the off screen), and everything was solid. After you register, you can post to the community, receive email notifications, and lots more. Then I wasn't using the second screen much so I turned it off. If you havent already registered, now is a good time to do so. Originally I set this up in a dual-monitor config, with the 27" as the primary and the old 20" as the secondary. The FirePro and the 27" Dell are both new.
